How LVN Works

Your neurologist, your choices and one team keeping care connected.

LVN connects owners and referring veterinary surgeons with selected neurological clinicians and suitable veterinary facilities. We coordinate appointments, investigations and treatment, manage the professional-fee arrangements and keep clinical records and communication connected. The neurologist caring for your pet remains responsible for their neurological assessment and decisions.

Four simple stages

From first contact to ongoing care

A typical LVN experience, not a compulsory sequence of appointments or procedures.

01 · ENQUIRE

Tell us what you need

Contact LVN directly or ask your vet to get in touch. You do not need a referral letter or a confirmed neurological diagnosis. Tell us about your concerns and preferences for timing, location and clinician. We explain the available appointments and fees.

02 · ASSESS

Meet your neurologist

LVN arranges a consultation with an appropriate clinician from its selected network, at a suitable location. Your neurologist assesses the problem, explains the findings and discusses the options. A consultation is valuable in its own right. There is no expectation of further tests or treatment.

03 · DECIDE

Agree the next step

If further care is needed, LVN commissions investigations or coordinates treatment through suitable facilities and clinicians. You can discuss location, availability and costs before proceeding. Several stages can happen promptly or be arranged separately when clinically appropriate.

04 · CONTINUE

Stay connected

LVN organises results discussions and follow-up, maintains records and communicates with your usual vet. Your responsible neurologist remains involved in decisions and continuing care as agreed, even when investigations or treatment take place at different hospitals.

For owners and referring vets alike: LVN welcomes direct enquiries, first assessments, second opinions and patients already receiving care elsewhere. Your usual veterinary practice remains an important part of the team.

How fees work

LVN administers the professional fees for the clinicians delivering neurological care. Hospitals and external providers charge separately for their facilities, imaging, anaesthesia, nursing and inpatient care. We explain the available options and expected charges before each agreed step. See LVN fees.

Who looks after your pet?

The treating clinician makes neurological decisions. The hospital team provides its own anaesthesia, nursing, monitoring and immediate inpatient care. LVN keeps the people involved informed and coordinates the agreed next steps.

Need an urgent assessment? Please telephone LVN. If immediate treatment is needed and LVN is unavailable, use your usual emergency veterinary service without delay.
