Fees

London Veterinary Neurology (LVN) is structured around staged, consultant-led care. Fees reflect the time, expertise and ongoing clinical responsibility required for each step.

The model is aligned with private healthcare in human medicine. Clinical care is provided by Dr. Parker while imaging, anaesthesia, and hospitalisation are delivered by established partner hospitals.

Referrals typically begin with a consultation. Further investigations or treatments are recommended only when clinically indicated and are discussed with the client and referring vet at the point of care.

In most cases, professional fees and hospital facility fees are invoiced separately.

Hospital fees are set by partner practices and may vary depending on location, facilities and level of care required. They are discussed with the client by the host hospital and confirmed prior to admission or investigation.

  • Consultations

Consultations form the central part of the London Veterinary Neurology approach, bringing together clinical history, neurological examination and, where relevant, imaging findings to guide diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Time is allocated for detailed assessment, discussion and clear clinical decision-making. A written report is provided to the referring veterinary surgeon following each consultation.

Where imaging has been performed, findings are reviewed in advance and can be discussed in detail during a follow-up consultation where appropriate.

    First Consultation £480

    Follow-up Consultation £300

Urgent consultations may be arranged at short notice and are typically carried out at, or close to, the patient’s home or a local veterinary practice to minimise travel and facilitate timely assessment.

    Emergency Consultation £720

  • Imaging Review

All CT and MRI studies are reviewed by LVN and a structured written report is provided as standard. This report sets out the imaging findings and their clinical interpretation in the context of your pet’s history.

    Formal Imaging Report £240

A written report is generated for all imaging studies reviewed by LVN. This forms the core clinical output and can be shared with your primary care vet or any onward referral centre.

    Follow-up Consultation £300

A follow-up consultation is available to discuss the imaging findings in more detail, explore their implications and consider next steps. This is often helpful where decisions around treatment or further investigation are required, but is not essential in all cases.

  • CSF analysis is performed when indicated to support diagnosis of inflammatory, infectious or neoplastic disease.

Collection is carried out under general anaesthesia at a partner hospital. Where required, London Veterinary Neurology will attend to perform CSF collection and, when undertaken at the time of imaging, to assess the safety and appropriateness of sampling based on imaging findings.

Fees are split between London Veterinary Neurology and the host hospital, with hospital and laboratory charges invoiced separately.

Results are interpreted and discussed as part of a follow-up consultation, where findings are integrated with the clinical picture.

  • Surgical treatment is offered where indicated following diagnosis.

Procedure-specific estimates are provided in advance once a treatment plan has been agreed.

  • Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is one of the most common causes of spinal cord injury in dogs and can range from mild pain to paralysis.

Management depends on the severity and duration of clinical signs, as well as imaging findings. Treatment may involve conservative management or surgery and timing can be critical in more severe cases.

Surgery is performed at partner hospitals where indicated. As each case varies, a detailed treatment plan and estimate are provided following consultation and imaging.
